Callahan’s prints feature contemporary music artists and popular culture icons, like Heath Ledger, in bright, cartoonish palettes and whimsical poses. In this way, Callahan aims to present a contrast between his human subjects and the bright digital landscape in which they are depicted, encouraging viewers to reconsider the humanity of our icons, how we choose them, and why.
